Andrew FullerAndrew Fuller studied at the Royal Academy of Music with Florence Hooton and Derek Simpson. In addition to a busy schedule as a chamber musician and guest Principal with many orchestras, Andrew’s duo partnership with Michael Dussek has had great success with recent concerts and recordings. Their first two discs together on the Dutton Vocalion label receiving critical acclaim; their recording of Bantock Cello works (with Lucy Wakeford, Harp) was selected as Editor’s choice in Gramophone Magazine Feb 2001. Violinist Lorraine McAslan joined them for their latest recording of Chamber works by Kenneth Leighton (2002). Also selected as Editor’s choice in Gramophone Oct 2001 was his recording of Walford Davies’ Solemn melody with Roger Fisher, Organ.

He is Principal cellist with the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra and the Primavera Chamber Orchestra, with whom he also appears as soloist. He was Associate Principal Cello with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra from 1990 – 1997.

Andrew was a founder member of the York Piano Trio from 1987 to 1990; since then he has been a guest with many chamber groups including: the Brindisi Quartet, the Coul Quartet, the 4th Dimension String quartet, and the Fibonacci sequence.

As a chamber player, he has also made many live broadcasts and studio recordings for BBC Radio 3 from venues such as: the BBC Concert Hall, St. Johns Smith Square, St Georges Brandon Hill and Pebble Mill. Andrew has recently recorded 10 Television Programmes of chamber works with the Primavera Ensemble for Meridian TV.

He is also much in demand as Guest Principal Cellist with orchestras including: The Royal Philharmonic, the City of London Sinfonia, the New Queen’s Hall Orchestra, The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, the Hanover Band and the English National Ballet Orchestra.
