Susan has enjoyed operatic engagements with Glyndebourne, Bayreuth and Wexford Festivals, and the Walton Trust, Ischia. Awards include the Richard Tauber Schubert Society Prize and Tillett Trust’s Young Artists Platform. Other prestigious competition successes have included the Kathleen Ferrier Awards and the Belvedere International singing Competition in Vienna. Susan made her Wigmore Hall recital debut in 1995 and has given piano and song recitals at the Purcell Room, St. John, Smith’s Square and St. James’s Palace. Oratorio performances have included Handel’s Messiah with Sir David Willcocks, Elgar’s Dream of Gerontius and The Kingdom with Mark Deller in Canterbury Cathedral and Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle with Wayne Marshall in London. With pianist Ann Martin-Davis Susan received international acclaim for a CD of Lutoslawski songs and piano music for the ASV Label. The duo recently commissioned song-cycles by Graham Fitkin, Howard Skempton and Gabriel Jackson which they performed and toured for most of the major UK music and poetry festivals. Susan has travelled widely; singing three performances of Handel’s Messiah in Mexico, and giving recitals in Norway, India and Australia and the Amazon. In 2006 Susan recorded the soundtrack for ‘Blimey Games’ multiple award winning computer game GTR2 (distributed worldwide) and is recording the soundtrack for their forthcoming Ferrari project, due for worldwide release next year.

Susan studied piano with Clifford Benson and with Phyllis Sellick at the Royal College of Music. Her singing studies with Margaret Kingsley continued at the National Opera Studio after winning the National Mozart Singing Competition.
